Musician Nathan Dies sings their cover of Deusa do Amor, by Olodum in this music video. An audio reactive “box of memories” takes a loving, nostalgic approach to the cancellation and community isolation of Carnaval 2021.

Face, Places, Brief as Photos

This film explores the relationship of a missed connection between two strangers. The excerpt features a moment when the characters are stripped down from their identity in reality and discovering their connection that would have been.

DIVISION

For this project, I was intrigued by the idea of splitting the physical form as it progresses through a stream of choreography, dividing the sensory visual interpretation of the movement. With music by Nathan Dies, we made each snare beat reactionary. It premiered at the Make What Moves You Virtual Benefit show, raising money for The Lebanese Red Cross.

Apart Together

In Apart Together, the meaning, loss, and uncertainty of a 'home' space was brought to life by flickering lights. Dancers moved across a pressure plate controlling each light. The quiet turmoil was accompanied by an original music composition by Dai Haraguchi.

Por Causa de Você

A collaboration with music by Nathan Dies, using samples of Caetano Veloso covering Jorge Ben Jor’s song. I explored tracking the word menina (girl) as it floats around my movement throughout the dance.
